Bob and Lyn's second wedding
Lyn & I decided to renew our wedding vows in Tasmania on our 40th Wedding Anniversary. When we married in Adelaide in 1969, most of our Tasmanian family were unable to attend.
So our aim was to celebrate our Anniversary with the Tasmanian side of our family and invite our friends from Sydney Melbourne and Adelaide as well.
We had been looking at venues for a few weeks when Redbanks Outdoor Experience was suggested. We looked at the Redbanks website, discussed the venue with close family and made a booking. We weren't sure how many would attend, but thought 50 was a fair estimate. The idea of people enjoying our celebration as well as participating in outdoor events appealed to us.
We decided to fly in to the venue, complete with our Marriage Celebrant Father Peter, to surprise our family and friends. Lindsay arranged the flight direct with TASAIR at Hobart Airport and helped keep it secret from even our close family, which was a significant achievement in itself.
The Redbanks Lodge was the
venue for our celebration, Lindsay and Jo provided a BBQ Lunch,
followed by an afternoon at the Outdoor Experience with Archery,
Trout fishing, Aqua Golf, Air Rifle Gallery shooting, Target shooting
with 22 calibre Rifles and Clay Pigeon Shooting. Most of our 70
guests participated in the activities and everyone thoroughly enjoyed
the afternoon. The instructors on each site were very helpful in
demonstrating and helping with skills in sports most had not
previously experienced.
In the evening a Roast Dinner topped off our day, with a cash bar provided.
Lindsay and Jo attended to our every need including audiovisual projection, TV and sound and showed us that Redbanks was truly a one-stop-shop capable of providing everything needed. Lindsay even arranged for a professional photographer to take photos during the day.
We have since had phone
calls and messages from everyone telling us what a wonderful
experience the day at Redbanks was. Many photos have been sent to us
of families enjoying the sports and we are in the process of
compiling a photo album and a video clip to remind us of our amazing
day.
